Hello is a floor lamp that adds light and character to its surroundings through its simplistic, clear and playful character. Hello is designed by the Swedish designer Jonas Wagell.
Hello has a futuristic expression with a soft and over-sized shade giving it strong and personal character. It is almost calling out in a hushed way. The diffuser in acrylic reflects the light and creates a soft and pleasant ambience. The stem of solid wood contrasts the steel shade and adds warmth and a playful expression.
The idea for Hello came when Jonas Wagell needed a large lamp for an architect project – a lamp which was to have a form that resembled a mobile. He ended up with a simple construction of several small aluminium shades attached to a wood rod. This ideas was eventually simplified and reduced to the design of the floor lamp.
The Hello floor lamp is available in white and grey with a stem made of solid beech.
"I strive to design objects that look simple and uncomplicated, and not technical. Objects that have a graphic appearance like symbols or icons", Jonas Wagell explains. The Hello floor lamp is like that. Its simplistic shape questions why things have to be - or look - so complicated.
The lamp combines a large shade with an acrylic diffusor to create a soft and pleasant light with a simple rod of solid birch. The birch stem contrasts the metal parts and adds a level of playfulness.
