Brace is a simplistic take on the traditional steel tube chair, composed by a light frame of tubular steel and generously curved seat and backrest of thin laminated veneer. The concept is focused on providing outstanding comfort with a visually lightweight and elegant chair. Optionally, the seat may be upholstered with a thin layer of foam and fabric for a more tactile experience and to promote even longer sitting.
The design derives from a cross-beam construction which provides strength and stability with a reduced and minimal frame. This has given the name Brace chair.
The thin laminated backrest is mechanically attached through a fixture plate flush with the wood. This provides the possibility easily separate materials, to repaint or repair a used chair - and eventually to safely recycle the product. All this enables a sustainable and circular life cycle for the product and benefits for the user, as well as the environment.
The Brace armchair is designed for Mitab and manufactured in Sweden with local resources. It is readily available in a selection of colour ways, and can be delivered in 200+ colours on request.
